After my trip to New York for the United Nations Compact for Young People in Humanitarian Action, I was given the opportunity to fly to DC for an event held by Ashoka: Innovators for the Public. Ashoka is an incredible organization which works to engage "a community of change leaders who see that the world now requires everyone to be a changemaker."
While I was at in DC at the Ashoka event, we talked about redefining success for students in the 21st century and how to create an "everyone a changemaker" world. AYANA's mission is to further this by engaging young people to see problems in their communities as opportunities to create change. We engage young leaders in developing communities to be at the forefronts of change in their own communities. Through this, we have mobilized over 300 young people to reach over 2,500 community members -- and this is just the beginning.
